According to the latest data from the China Industrial Textiles Industry Association, in 2016, the business revenue of the above-scale enterprises in the industrial textile industry in China was 308.197 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%; total profit was 19.092 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year. The value-added of industrial textile fabric industry grew by 9.1%, and the textile industry during the same period was 4.9%. The amount of investment in fixed assets rose by 4.51% year-on-year.

While the industry’s profitability is stable, the industry’s losses continue to ease.

In 2016, the industry’s loss ratio was 8.3%, a decrease of 1.6 percentage points from 2015, while the loss amount was significantly reduced by 19.8%, and the loss of loss-making enterprises dropped from 640 million yuan in 2014 to 360 million yuan.

Nonwovens profit margins are at the highest level in the industry

In terms of sub-sectors, the revenue growth rate of ropes, ropes, and chief executives was the highest, reaching 10.34%, while textile bags decreased by 1.21%.

Non-woven fabrics and ropes have a faster growth in the cost of their business operations than revenue growth, making the gross margin of the two industries different.

With the drop in the degree, the gross margin of Peng canvas has increased by 1.75 percentage points, and the profit rate has increased by 1.52 percentage points.

Non-woven fabrics have a profit margin of 6.38%, which is the highest level in the industry. Textile belts and profit margins have dropped to 5,65%, which is the lowest in the industry.

Imports and exports all dropped year-on-year

In addition, according to statistics from the China Customs Headquarters, in 2016 China's industrial textiles for export were 23.61 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 7.42% and imports of 6.17 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%.

Medical and sanitary textiles, industrial fabrics, non-woven fabrics, canopy, cord (cable) belts, synthetic leather and base tapes, and packaging textiles are the main export products of the industry, with exports exceeding US$1.5 billion.

Among the main products, the export volume and export volume of textile textiles both maintained a rapid growth, with an increase of 11.8% and 15.1% respectively. Exports of non-woven fabrics increased by 1.5%, and the rest of the products’ exports fell at different rates. In terms of export volume, most products still maintain a certain degree of growth.

Extinction, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea and India are the largest markets for China's industrial textiles exports, and their exports account for 38% of total exports.

In the top 10 countries and regions, exports to the Philippines increased by 2.06%, and the rest decreased. If exports to the United States decreased by 5.04%, it was the first time in years that the industry had decreased its exports to the United States, and exports to Japan and Nanning Decrease 2.02% and 5.08% respectively

In 2016, the major prices of major products all decreased, the declines in wire ropes (cables), synthetic leather, and textile fabrics for packaging and packaging exceeded 10%, and the unit price of non-woven fabrics also decreased by nearly 10%. Export prices continued to decline. It is an important factor in the decline of the industry's exports.

Industrial cluster progress

On December 20 last year, a summary meeting for the reassessment of the national textile industry cluster was held in the Great Hall of the People in 2016.

It is understood that since the China Federation of Preventive Industry launched pilot work on industrial clusters in 2002, China's industrial textile industry has successively recommended 13 clusters to participate in pilot projects.

These clusters cover medical and sanitary textiles, geotextiles, construction textiles, textiles for filtration and separation, textiles for synthetic leather, rope (cable) nets, textiles for tapes, and linings, and are mainly distributed in Zhejiang. Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei, Fujian, Hebei and other provinces.
